About the Role

The Operating Room Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures at Daviess Community Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for assisting surgeons during surgeries and procedures, preparing the operating suite for procedures, and monitoring surgical instruments and supplies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist surgeons during surgeries and procedures, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.
  • Prepare the operating suite for procedures, including setting up equipment and supplies.
  • Monitor surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring they are sterile and in good working condition.
  • Sterilize instruments and equipment, maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients.
  • Adapt procedures for patients of all ages, taking into account their unique needs and requirements.
  • Prepare the room with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring everything is ready for the procedure.
  • Handle specimens accurately, following established protocols and procedures.
  • Assist in positioning and prepping patients, ensuring they are comfortable and secure.
  • Check equipment before procedures, ensuring it is in good working condition.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Surgical Technology program.
  • Hold Surgical Technologist Certification.
  • BCLS Certification required.
  • Minimum 1 year of OR experience.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages preferred.
  • Basic computer skills.
