Job Summary:

MedStar Medical Group is seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at our state-of-the-art medical facility. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms, providing exceptional patient care, and collaborating with our medical team to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care in the scrub role, assisting the RN with circulating duties as delegated.
  • Collaborate with the Core Leader, OR to provide orientation to the scrub role for new staff, ensuring they are familiar with instrumentation, equipment, supplies, operative procedures, and surgeon preferences.
  • Maintain, evaluate, and revise instrument sets, surgical supplies, and equipment, initiating orders for repair or purchase as needed.
  • Assure a safe environment for patients during the intraoperative phase of surgical intervention.
  • Assist with turnover of the OR suite, contributing to the development and implementation of department and team goals and objectives.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of new employees in orientation, ensuring they are adequately prepared for their role.
  • Participate in team and staff meetings, in-services, and quality assurance audits to stay up-to-date on changes and innovations in the field.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completion of an accredited program in Surgical Technology.
  • 1-2 years of O.R. experience as a surgical technologist in an acute care operating room, with experience in major surgical specialties.
  • CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification preferred.

Compensation:

$48.99 per hour.
