We are currently seeking a full-time Surgical Technologist who will uphold our esteemed tradition of excellence. This role is pivotal for those who aspire to impact lives positively on a daily basis.

Position Details:
This is a full-time role consisting of five 8-hour evening shifts each week, commencing at 2:30 p.m. Availability for on-call and weekend duties is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all necessary supplies, instruments, and equipment are prepared and available for scheduled surgical procedures by reviewing preference cards.
  • Perform preoperative tasks, including donning appropriate surgical attire and PPE, preparing instruments and supplies, establishing a sterile field, and conducting initial counts with the circulator.
  • Monitor the operating room for compliance with safety protocols and attire regulations throughout the procedure.
  • Collaborate with the Sterile Processing Department to maintain instruments in optimal condition and report any required repairs.
  • Assist during surgeries by preparing additional instruments and supplies, passing medications, and performing counts as per established policies.
  • Adhere to lockout/tag-out procedures for malfunctioning equipment and report issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe and clean environment by identifying and reporting unsafe conditions.
  • Facilitate patient transport as necessary throughout the perioperative process.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and medical terminology.
  • Proficiency in sterile and aseptic techniques.
  • Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions and comply with hospital policies.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Required Credentials:
  • Graduation from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
  • A minimum of six months of surgical technology experience or completion of at least 80 surgical procedures in a first scrub role during training.
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist must be obtained within six months of employment.
  • Current BLS Certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
