This is a remote position.

We are seeking a skilled Data Protection Specialist to ensure compliance with global privacy regulations and support our company's commitment to protecting personal data. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate privacy risks and implement robust data protection measures.

Job Title: Data Protection Specialist
Location: REMOTE (Pacific Time)
Job Type: Contract 6 Months

Duties:
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and protection regulations including GDPR CCPA and NIST
  • Answer queries on global data privacy processing and protection requirements from internal stakeholders
  • Conduct compliance gap analysis and readiness assessments for upcoming policy changes
  • Create and maintain documentation privacy notices privacy statements SOPs work instructions and guidance notes in cooperation with legal teams
  • Manage any Data Subject Request process that the organization has
  • Collect and maintain records of processing activities
  • Prepare reports on regulatory compliance
  • Escalate any potential data breaches for investigation and resolution

Requirements:
  • Privacy Data Protection & Compliance 5 years experience preferably in a technology company or consulting firm that provides privacy services to tech clients
  • Privacy Laws Regulations & Frameworks strong knowledge of GDPR CCPA NIST COBIT PCIDSS etc.
  • Privacy Management Tools experience with TrustArc OneTrust etc.
  • Web Application Security knowledge of or experience with security testing and web application assessment a plus
  • Certifications CIPP/E CIPT CIPM or any other GRC certification are not required but highly desirable
  • Soft Skills ability to communicate complex privacy issues to non-technical stakeholders; strong analytical organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment


Data Protection & Compliance - 5+ years experience, preferably in a technology company or consulting firm that provides privacy services to tech clients Privacy Laws, Regulations & Frameworks - strong knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, NIST, COBIT, PCI-DSS, etc. Privacy Management Tools - experience with TrustArc, OneTrust, etc. Certifications - CIPP/E, CIPT, CIPM or any other GRC certification
