Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Auto Claims Adjuster to join our team at Shelter Mutual Insurance Company. As an Auto Claims Adjuster, you will be responsible for investigating, analyzing, and evaluating insurance claims involving automobile material damage losses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and analyze insurance claims to determine the extent of damage and the value of the claim
  • Evaluate and settle claims within prescribed limits of authority, in accordance with established procedures and consistent with legal and contractual obligations
  • Conduct physical inspections of automobiles to assess damage and determine the cause of the loss
  • Negotiate with claimants and other parties to reach a mutually acceptable settlement
  • May be assigned to work with catastrophe teams and branch catastrophes for auto losses

Requirements:

  • Investigative, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Ability to inspect automobiles physically and visually
  • Superior negotiation, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to learn through on-the-job training and training courses
  • Strong technical skills
  • Efficient time management skills to maintain schedules and deadlines
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving history
  • Advanced knowledge of automobile repair desired
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without a reasonable accommodation
