The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Sentara CarePlex Hospital. As a key member of the healthcare team, the RN will assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
Responsibilities- Assess and admit patients, conducting thorough evaluations to identify potential health risks and develop effective care plans
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate dosing and timing
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including rounding checks and family member communication
- Monitor patient progress, adjusting care plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Current RN licensure in Virginia or compact state
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- ACLS certification within 1 year of hire (for Critical Care/IMCU)
