Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Walmart's Health and Wellness Central Operations. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our central fill pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain pharmacy systems and technology by preparing informational and related records and reports to ensure accurate data and system compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and expiration dates for pharmaceuticals, calibrate machines, and apply settings to pill or capsule specifications to minimize breakage.
  • Ensure medications are continuously replenished by utilizing the computer and/or scanner screen, and troubleshoot pill cell issues throughout production.
  • Sort, place, and store freight in appropriate locations, restock and replenish medication in appropriate locations, and report low stock levels.
  • Perform inventory cycle counts, assist with physical counts for inventories, and create reports using inventory information systems.
  • Monitor prescription inventory for expired pharmaceuticals, and identify and resolve discrepancies in records or files.
  • Support facility with reporting and paperwork to ensure productivity and pharmaceutical integrity by entering and modifying pharmaceutical data on system and forms, processing and submitting paperwork, and creating and maintaining documentation and communications.
  • Promote and maintain the pharmacy's professional reputation and deliver patients with pharmacy products and services in accordance with local, state, and federal laws and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Ensure fulfillment of pharmacy prescriptions in an automated central fill pharmacy to maintain a continuous and consistent work-flow to meet daily production and quality goals.
  • Maintain quality, accuracy, and integrity of inventory by utilizing automated inventory control scanner and system to track and ensure the timely and appropriate delivery and stocking of pharmaceuticals and supplies.

Requirements:

  • Meets state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician, such as minimum age, qualification, registration, certification, and/or licensure when required by the State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Holds an active/valid national certification certificate issued by PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT).
  • Pharmacy Technician Career Diploma through Live Better U and Penn Foster is preferred.
