Colorado State University is seeking a highly skilled Environmental GIS Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML), you will be responsible for developing and maintaining environmental GIS data for two U.S. Air Force Bases.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain environmental GIS data, ensuring compliance with Spatial Data Standards for Facility, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) standards.
  • Provide GIS support, including cartographic support, data requests, and data analysis, to Air Force environmental programs.
  • Collect and evaluate existing spatial and aspatial data from disparate sources, performing field data collection using GPS and rectifying aerial photography.
  • Engage with Air Force environmental Program Managers and staff at all supported bases, providing project updates and GIS support services.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of a BS or BA degree in computer science, information technology, geographic information systems, geography, environmental science, or related fields.
  • Three years of demonstrated GIS work experience, with coursework not included.
  • Experience in environmental related GIS, Esri's ArcGIS software, and cartography.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 1 week in duration, 2 times per year, to each remotely located Air Force Base.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a highly structured organization, with demonstrated knowledge of military instructions, directives, guidance, and environmental regulations and processes.
  • Existing National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) or ability to obtain one.
