Job Summary

We're seeking a highly motivated and experienced GIS Analyst II to join our team. As a key member of our GIS team, you'll be responsible for providing technical support and expertise to clients and internal stakeholders. You'll work closely with our project managers, clients, and other GIS staff to ensure that quality and timely GIS support is provided on all projects.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and expertise to clients and internal stakeholders on GIS-related projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, and GIS staff to ensure that quality and timely GIS support is provided on all projects.
  • Stay up-to-date with current GIS technology and identify opportunities for implementing new tools and techniques.
  • Work independently with supervision from a GIS Manager to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
  • Develop and manage enterprise GIS databases, GIS webmaps, and GIS mobile apps.
  • Produce high-quality figures and reports for environmental projects.
  • Perform desktop analysis of environmental constraints data for planning field surveys or agency application submittals.
  • Query geographic data for information to be used in reports and proposals.
  • Work interactively with data from CAD platforms and other geospatial data sources.
  • Collaborate with other TRC staff to improve project methodologies and deliverables.
  • Think critically about tasks and see the big picture to solve problems.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Computer Science, or other related discipline.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience applying GIS technology to answer questions and solve problems.

Required GIS Competencies
  • Data Entry/Conversion: Able to convert data from multiple sources and formats to a common format or common schema.
  • Cartography and Graphic Design: Able to express graphically, usually through maps and online viewers, the features within a GIS.
  • Basic GIS Analysis: Able to utilize GIS applications to examine the locations, attributes, and relationships of features in spatial data.
  • Geodatabase Development & Design / Data Models: Able to utilize GIS applications to build a GIS, i.e. data mining, geodatabase design, data conversion, etc.
  • GPS Device/Applications: Able to configure and troubleshoot various GPS devices and mobile data collection applications.
Desired GIS Competencies
  • Advanced GIS Analysis/Model Building/Visual Simulations: Able to utilize GIS applications to perform advanced spatial analysis or data conversion or manipulation.
  • Application of GIS/Problem Solving: Able to translate client needs to solutions using GIS technology.
  • Web Applications/Services: Able to create map services and interactive web applications.
Travel and Workplace

The GIS Analyst II is a remote position. Occasional travel for customer visits or training may be required.

In accordance with local law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $66,000-$80,000. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
