Healthcare Operations Manager

DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital is one of the largest hospitals in the country, offering a wide range of services including heart care, cancer treatment, gerontology, emergency medicine, and cosmetic services.
The hospital has a joint replacement program that features minimally invasive knee and hip replacement surgery, attracting patients from all over the nation. With over 21 outpatient care sites and ambulatory surgery centers throughout Wayne and Oakland Counties, DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital is committed to providing high-quality patient care.
Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Nursing Director Behavioral Health to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating processes related to performance improvement, staffing effectiveness, fiscal management, staff competence, and customer service outcomes for Behavioral Health Services at Sinai Grace Hospital.
Main Responsibilities:Ensure quality and appropriateness of care by facilitating and supporting unit-based quality improvement programs and continuous improvement processes.
Create an environment of shared decision-making by promoting multidisciplinary collaboration on patient care and related issues.
Promote positive customer relations with physicians, patients, families, visitors, and employees by following up on complaints and providing feedback.
Plan, implement, and evaluate staff development and competency maintenance programs to ensure staff participation in orientation, mandatory, and continuing education programs.
Develop, implement, monitor, and adjust capital and operating budgets to provide variance reports and/or corrective action plans as requested.
Develop business plans and/or requests for proposals as required.
Select, evaluate, counsel, discipline, and terminate unit personnel in collaboration with the clinical manager and unit staff.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, state, federal laws, and Joint Commission requirements by reviewing and revising policies, procedures, and standards related to assigned unit/service areas.
Maintain communication lines between self and staff and among staff by conducting regular staff meetings and providing opportunities for team building and problem-solving within a shared decision-making framework.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Master's degree in Nursing, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, with two degrees being one in Nursing.
- Three to five years of experience in clinical and/or progressively more responsible management experience, which may be concurrent.
- Licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Michigan.
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and teamwork skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, unit staff, and other hospital personnel.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data/information used to formulate/implement/monitor goals and objectives for patient services.
- Good reading, writing, and comprehension skills to understand, effectively communicate, and contribute to procedures/processes/orders/methods/standards.
- Ability to work productively and effectively in a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities, and deal with stresses associated with a patient care environment.
