Registered Nurse MDS Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY
The MDS / RN Care Coordinator plays a pivotal role in managing the RAI process, ensuring compliance with both federal and state regulations, and working closely with nursing personnel to execute care strategies. This full-time role is under the supervision of the facility administrator.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the RAI process and guarantee the prompt completion of MDS, CAAs, and care strategies
- Facilitate care plan discussions with residents and their families
- Ensure care plans are current and accurately maintained
- Assess MDS for precision and recognize trends for educational purposes
- Supervise documentation for Medicare and managed care patients
- Engage in Quality Improvement initiatives
- Provide guidance on the financial aspects of RUGS, PPS, and case mix rates
- Keep updated on current regulations through training and seminars
- RN degree from an accredited institution
- AANAC certification is required
- Current CPR certification
- 2-4 years of experience in MDS and long-term care settings
- Familiarity with Point Click Care is preferred
