As a Clinical Care Specialist at PPGNY, you will conduct comprehensive medical evaluations aimed at delivering sexual and reproductive health services. This includes assessing overall health, diagnosing medical issues, and providing therapeutic support for a defined range of infections and conditions, including HIV.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for evaluating, planning, and delivering personalized health care that aligns with the policies and protocols of PPFA and the PPGNY Rapid Initiation of ART (RIA) initiative.
  • Delivers a full spectrum of sexual and reproductive health services and education to patients, encompassing contraception, abortion, routine examinations, testing and treatment of sexually transmitted infections, including HIV, and gender-affirming health care.
  • Employs the GOALS Framework for Sexual History Taking to gather health histories and performs physical assessments with a focus on HIV care, preventive health, healthy sexuality, and transgender hormone therapy.
  • Facilitates HIV confirmatory diagnosis and RIA within a collaborative team environment, providing necessary pre-service and in-service training, including RIA-specific laboratory tests, medication prescriptions, and seamless transitions to external care.
  • Oversees the medical components of all clinical services provided through the RIA program, serving as a resource for program staff and patients regarding medical inquiries.
  • Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals, making referrals to medical and community resources as needed.
  • Participates in the training and orientation of newly hired personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to travel as required for job duties, which may include occasional support for mobile health units.
  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • State licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, with certification from a recognized national credentialing body.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Comfortable and proficient with EMR systems.
  • Experience working with LGBTQ+ populations.
  • Ability to provide compassionate, non-judgmental, and culturally sensitive care across diverse backgrounds, demonstrating a strong commitment to patient experience.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • At least one year of experience as a clinician.
  • Master's degree in a related health field.
  • Experience with individuals newly diagnosed or living with HIV.

Compensation:

$135,096 annually.

Additional Requirements:
