Key Responsibilities

  • Create and lead a strategic roadmap for developing cutting-edge water treatment products.
  • Navigate existing and emerging technologies, build an innovation plan, and ensure its successful execution through collaboration with internal R&D teams, university partnerships, and startup/emerging technology accelerators.
  • Work alongside commercial, operations, and product management teams to ensure alignment with organizational strategy.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive roadmap for water treatment product innovation.
  • Identify opportunities and gaps within the existing landscape of water treatment technologies.
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends in water treatment technologies and maintain a comprehensive understanding of current market offerings.
  • Lead investigations into new and existing technologies and their applications with a focus on building a pipeline of potential pilot project and commercial partners.
  • Build and execute an innovation plan through internal R&D, university partnerships, and startup/emerging technology accelerators.
  • Translate research insights into commercial solutions by coordinating cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, engineering, and external partners to ensure alignment on innovation goals and commercialization strategies.
  • Provide technical support to customers and commercial teams, visit customers when necessary to assist in and or pursue opportunities and/or problem-solving strategies, develop training modules for commercial and field teams and develop outline for marketing materials.
  • Build relationships with external research and technology partners.
  • Inspire and lead innovation initiatives across the company.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

Requirements

  • Master's or PhD in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field with a focus on water treatment.
  • ~5+ years of experience in municipal or industrial water treatment or research and development (drinking water or wastewater).
  • Proven track record in developing and executing innovation strategies for water treatment products.
  • Strong understanding of translating research into commercially viable solutions.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to driving innovation.
  • Skilled in building strategic partnerships and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to lead complex projects.
  • Travel is expected to be ~15%.
