Patient Access Representative Lead

Job Summary
Greet and register patients who present themselves for hospital services. Obtain demographic and financial information to complete the registration process, ensuring accurate billing and medical record input. Obtain necessary signatures and consents.
Responsibilities
- Verify demographic and financial information for accuracy.
- Collect and report Point of Service Collections.
- Interview patients and/or representatives to obtain demographic and financial information.
- Obtain proper consent for adults and minors.
- Obtain necessary signatures for registration.
- Secure copies/scans of picture ID and insurance cards.
- Communicate with patients and representatives via phone and face-to-face.
- Obtain Workers Compensation information and verify as needed.
- Document situations that arise out of the ordinary.
- Assist the Supervisor with training new employees.
- Provide input for staff member evaluations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- 1 Year of experience in a healthcare setting and/or Customer Service area.
- Experience with personal computers (PC's) and medical terminology.
Working Conditions
Work independently or in conjunction with nursing or other personnel to serve patient needs. Participate in disaster team drills and enactments. Respond to disaster codes and carry out duties as needed.
