Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Manager of the Power Markets & Settlements Section, the incumbent is responsible for leading complex assignments that require unique technical knowledge and skills related to:

  • The administration of the Electricity Supply and Strategic Reserve Office (ESSRO) power purchase agreements.
  • Evaluation of ESSRO investment opportunities.
  • Monitoring state-mandated Integrated Resource Plans (IRP), renewable energy policy, and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) reduction goals.

The incumbent will work closely with other members of ESSRO and may require coordination with other State agencies, such as the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), California Energy Commission (CEC), and the California Air Resources Board (CARB). Additionally, work may require coordination with the California Independent System Operator (CAISO), generator developers, and California Load Serving Entities (LSEs) such as electric Investor-Owned Utilities (IOUs), Publicly Owned Utilities (POUs), and Community Choice Aggregators (CCAs).

The incumbent must possess a valid California Driver's license.
