Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Behavioral Support Technician to join our team at Educational Service District 112. As a key member of our special education team, you will provide critical support to students with developmental delays and intellectual disabilities, helping them to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist classroom teachers and Registered Behavior Technicians in implementing individualized behavior support plans for students with complex needs.
  • Provide direct support to students in functional skill domains, including communication, self-care, social skills, community use, leisure, and work.
  • Collect and record data on student performance, contributing to the development of Behavior Support Plans.
  • Manage student behaviors by adhering to Behavior Support Plans, utilizing principles of de-escalation, and following district-approved restraint/seclusion procedures.
  • Support students with personal care needs, including feeding, toileting, tube feeding, catheterization, and diaper changing.
  • Transport students to and from program, as needed, and provide supervision during arrival, departure, recess, breaks, and lunch.
Requirements
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of experience engaging/working with school-aged children.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience in a special education classroom setting, knowledge of programs and services for students with disabilities, and experience with school-aged children who engage in challenging behavior.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a day treatment program setting, with physical intervention necessary to properly restrain students in compliance with Washington State WACs and Emergency Response protocol. Exposure to communicable diseases found in children and adolescents is also a requirement.
