Position Highlights:
  • Minimum driver earnings of $1300 weekly (specific requirements will be discussed during the interview).
  • Annual earnings potential of $65,000 or more.
  • Home every night with local routes and weekends off.
  • Work schedule from Monday to Friday with dispatch times between 3:00 AM and 6:00 AM.
Role Purpose:
The Driver - Supply Chain Management is tasked with operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck for local, interstate, and over-the-road deliveries, ensuring the safe and timely distribution of food and related products while adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The role involves professional interaction with customers, vendors, and colleagues, ensuring accurate and timely communication. Team collaboration within the department and organization is essential, along with performing any assigned duties to best serve the company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct all necessary safety inspections (pre/post trip) of the tractor/truck and trailer in compliance with DOT regulations, ensuring adherence to company safety standards.
  • Report any safety concerns or required repairs promptly. Follow all DOT regulations and company driving safety policies.
  • Immediately report safety hazards and inspect trailers for properly loaded and secured freight.
  • Perform item count checks and verify customer invoices for loaded products.
  • Accurately complete all required paperwork associated with freight.
  • Position the tractor at the loading dock and attach preloaded trailers as necessary.
  • Drive to deliver customer orders according to a predetermined delivery schedule.
  • Unload products from the trailer and transport them to designated storage areas at customer locations.
  • Conduct damage control checks on items, scan, and communicate with supervisors regarding order removals as per company policy.
  • Verify delivery with customers and obtain necessary signatures. Collect payments where applicable. Secure customer returns in the trailer.
  • Ensure that the tractor, trailer, and freight are securely locked at all times.
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns, completing necessary paperwork. Clear all equipment and trash from trailers as required.
  • Maintain daily records of service hours and log them according to Federal DOT, state, and company regulations.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor and loading dock area, ensuring trailers are kept clean and organized. At the end of the shift, secure all equipment and complete necessary documentation.
  • Carry out other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent

• Minimum of 6 months of commercial tractor/trailer experience

• Valid CDL-A and must be at least 21 years old

• Compliance with all state licensing and certification requirements (if applicable)

• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years

• Successful completion of post-offer drug test and road test

• Possession of a valid DOT Health Card or ability to obtain one

• Capability to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move and stack product cases/freight of varying sizes and weights throughout the shift; products typically range from 10-35 pounds and up to 60-90 pounds, depending on location.
