Position Details:
  • Minimum driver earnings of $1300 weekly (subject to meeting weekly requirements discussed during the interview).

Role Purpose:
The Driver - SCM is tasked with operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck for local, interstate, and over-the-road deliveries, ensuring timely and safe transport of food and related products in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The role involves professional interaction with customers, vendors, and colleagues, ensuring accurate and timely communication. The driver also collaborates as a team member within the organization, performing any assigned duties to best serve the company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct all necessary safety inspections (pre/post trip) of the vehicle and trailer in accordance with DOT regulations; ensure compliance with company safety standards.
  • Report any safety concerns or required repairs promptly. Adhere to all DOT regulations and company driving policies.
  • Identify and report safety hazards immediately. Ensure freight is loaded and secured properly.
  • Perform inventory checks and verify customer invoices for loaded products.
  • Accurately complete all required documentation related to freight.
  • Position the tractor at the loading dock and connect the preloaded trailer as necessary.
  • Deliver customer orders following the established route schedule.
  • Unload products and transport them to designated storage areas at customer locations.
  • Conduct damage assessments on items, scan products, and communicate with supervisors regarding order removals per company policy.
  • Confirm delivery with customers and obtain necessary signatures. Collect payments where applicable. Secure customer returns in the trailer.
  • Ensure that the tractor, trailer, and freight are securely locked at all times.
  • Handle damaged goods and customer returns appropriately, completing necessary paperwork.
  • Maintain daily records of service hours in compliance with Federal DOT, state, and company regulations.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the vehicle and loading dock area, ensuring cleanliness of trailers as required. Secure all equipment and complete paperwork at the end of the shift.
  • Carry out other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience operating commercial tractor/trailer.
  • Valid CDL-A license; must be at least 21 years old.
  • Comply with all state licensing and certification requirements (if applicable).
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past three years.
  • Pass a post-offer drug test and road test.
  • Possess or be able to obtain a valid DOT Health Card.
  • Ability to lift and utilize equipment to move and stack product cases/freight of varying sizes and weights throughout the shift, typically ranging from 10-35 pounds and up to 60-90 pounds depending on location.
