Job Summary
This is a Senior Physical Security Engineer position that requires a high level of technical expertise in video surveillance and door access solutions. The successful candidate will provide design, installation, and technical support for these systems to our customers. This role also involves providing technical expertise and support for various security projects/customers while being the onsite technical lead for the project.

About the Role
The Senior Physical Security Engineer will work as a member of the HBS Physical Security Team, providing consultative and proactive project management support to HBS's account base. They will obtain knowledge on other technologies as directed by customer demand and provide sales consultants and fellow Engineers with physical security design assistance, review, validation, and optimization of systems and protocols. Additionally, they will contribute to product selection and research, configuration standards and best practices, and educate our sales teams on these products and services so that they can sell them.

Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this role include:
  1. Working as a member of the HBS Physical Security Team to provide consultative and proactive project management support to HBS's account base.
  2. Obtaining knowledge on other technologies as directed by customer demand.
  3. Providing sales consultants and fellow Engineers with physical security design assistance, review, validation, and optimization of systems and protocols.
  4. Contributing to product selection and research, configuration standards and best practices, and educating our sales teams on these products and services so that they can sell them.
  5. Understanding common vulnerabilities and associated risk mitigation strategies.
  6. Articulating complicated security concepts in cross-functional planning, coordination, and task execution across the spectrum of systems engineering and integration activities.
  7. Utilizing internal and vendor resources to problem solve, determine, and document best path to resolution.
  8. Directing resources to team, reporting on progress, issues, and problem areas, as well as writing and reviewing technical documents.
  9. Attending and participating in weekly team calls as directed by the Team Lead.
  10. Working in a team atmosphere as both a leader and contributor as assigned to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals. At all times maintaining a professional and respectful demeanor.
  11. Managing tasks assigned effectively without supervision.
  12. Cross-Education/Mentoring of other Heartland Engineers or Technicians or related personnel.
  13. Project management. HBS is awarded many large physical security projects and support jobs. The Physical Security Senior Engineer, in many cases, is not only responsible for the installation of PhySec solutions but is responsible for its design and management.

Requirements
The requirements for this role include:
  • A minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • Experience with Video Surveillance systems and associated hardware/software.
  • IT experience in networking and Windows highly desirable.
  • Experience with basic hand and power tools.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Team-oriented and knowledge contributor.
  • Ability to prioritize requirements and meet deadlines.

Benefits
This role offers a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
