Mechanical Technician for Combustion Lab

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Technician to join our Combustion Lab team at GE Aerospace. As a key member of our research and development team, you will work closely with our engineers to design, build, and test sophisticated mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the design and development of mechanical systems for combustion research
- Build and test prototype models using a variety of measurement tools and experimental techniques
- Collaborate with our research team to conduct experiments and analyze data
- Procure parts and materials to build prototype mechanical and electrical hardware
- Maintain and upgrade large experimental systems
- Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or closely related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in laboratory or research work
- Basic knowledge of flow characterization equipment, thermocouples, pressure transducers, and data acquisition systems
- Familiarity with machine shop equipment such as mills, grinders, and lathes
- Direct experience with flow or thermal experiments
- Ability to work with periodic guidance on tasks and innovate
- Ability to program data acquisition software including Labview
- Rapid acquisition of new skills and technologies
GE Aerospace offers a competitive salary range of $1,400 - $2,000 USD per week, depending on experience and qualifications.
