Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Service Manager in maintaining accurate and timely record keeping.
  • Make maximum use of available service shop space and personnel to optimize productivity.
  • Delegate duties to ensure the efficient and profitable operation of the service shop.
  • Quality check completed jobs to ensure high-quality workmanship.
  • Supervise all service shop activities to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with the Service Writer to schedule and assign work to technicians.
  • Assist mechanics with diagnosis and repair to ensure timely completion of jobs.
  • Control unapplied time to minimize losses.
  • Train apprentice technicians to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Coordinate parts needs for the service shop to ensure timely delivery.
  • Order, control, and account for shop supplies to maintain a well-stocked inventory.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with the work performed by the service shop.
  • Check to ensure payment terms are arranged before trucks leave the shop.
  • Inspect all trucks to ensure the quality of repair meets company standards.
  • Assist in resolving customer complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  • Track sales units through the service process to monitor performance.
  • Assist in annual performance evaluation reviews of technicians.
  • Responsible for repairs and/or replacement of shop tools to maintain a well-maintained equipment inventory.
