Account Development Representative

Job Overview:
This outside sales position focuses on promoting our products and services while building strong relationships with existing and new customers. Your primary goal is to contribute to the success of Sysco Syracuse, LLC by achieving sales and profit objectives.
To excel in this role, you will require excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. You will work closely with customers, vendors, and internal teams to identify opportunities and resolve issues effectively.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop new business opportunities and penetrate existing accounts to drive profitable sales growth within your assigned territory.
- Identify and qualify prospects based on company account stratification goals.
- Analyze customer business needs and develop a tailored mix of products and services to meet their requirements.
- Stay informed about market trends and recommend suitable products to customers, aligned with their business needs and goals.
- Provide expert advice to customers regarding products, prices, availability, and usage.
- Offer product information and practical training to customer personnel to enhance their knowledge and skills.
- Operate a personal vehicle for customer visits, company meetings, and other related activities.
- Manage accounts receivable by communicating with the credit department and clients, ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances.
- Collaborate with the transportation department to ensure efficient delivery schedules and troubleshoot any order-related issues.
- Participate in company events, promotions, and customer interactions to foster strong relationships and promote our brand.
- Attend and engage in sales and district meetings to stay updated on industry developments and best practices.
- Pursue ongoing training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Assist in the training of new employees as needed.
- Analyze daily and weekly reports, such as special-order requests, customer bid files, and sales/gross profit margin data, to inform your sales strategies.
- Perform administrative tasks, including preparing sales budgets and reports, maintaining sales records, processing credits and pick-up requests, creating sales quotes and menu suggestions, and filing reports.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or a related field OR HSD/GED and 3 years of experience in Restaurant Management, B2B, or outside sales, or equivalent relevant experience including completion of the Sysco Sales Internship.
- A valid driver's license
Estimated Salary Range: $55,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
