Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must demonstrate the following qualifications:
  • Valid teaching certification in the relevant area.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Ability to foster an engaging and motivating learning environment.
  • Understanding of childhood developmental stages.
  • Proficiency in lesson planning tailored to student needs.
  • Knowledge of the current Basal Reading Series.
  • Skills in promoting positive classroom behavior.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Relevant experience in education.
  • Understanding of Developmental Guidance principles.
  • Experience working with students needing support in reading and mathematics.
  • Background in teaching reading, language arts, mathematics, and handwriting.
  • Expertise in utilizing various mathematical tools.
  • Awareness of diverse learning modalities.
  • Familiarity with educational technology.
  • Ability to select appropriate teaching strategies for diverse learners.
  • Understanding of criterion-referenced testing in education.
  • Capability to develop actionable lesson plans based on educational objectives.
  • Experience with educational software in reading, mathematics, and writing.
  • Ability to maintain collaborative relationships with staff, students, and the community.
  • Knowledge of effective classroom management techniques.
  • Ability to analyze assessment data to enhance student learning.
  • Any combination of training and experience that would lead to successful employment as an elementary educator.

Responsibilities:

I. Curriculum Development:
Ensures adherence to state-required curriculum
  • Aligns instruction with adopted educational standards.
  • Demonstrates current knowledge in subject areas.
  • Designs lessons to meet instructional goals.
  • Employs diverse instructional methods to enhance student achievement.
  • Utilizes a structured content plan in lesson preparation.

II. Classroom Environment:
Creates a positive learning atmosphere

  • Establishes rules that support educational growth.
  • Encourages student attendance and participation.
  • Sets high expectations for student performance.

III. Instructional Management:
Organizes teaching methods to maximize learning time

  • Directs students to stay focused at the start of lessons.
  • Presents concepts in an understandable manner.

  • Facilitates smooth transitions between activities.
  • Summarizes key points at the end of lessons.

IV. Student Assessment:
