About the Role

The Youth Peer Advocate will work collaboratively with clients to help them access their core strengths and realize their full potential. You will utilize evidence-based practices that promote families in a culturally informed and competent way. Your lived experience with a disability, mental health challenge, substance use disorder, and/or experience in juvenile justice, special education, and/or foster care will enable you to provide unique support to young people in their resiliency/recovery and wellness.

Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with clients to identify and build on their strengths
  • Provide individual, couple, family, and group psychotherapy
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that address the unique needs of each client
  • Collaborate with licensed clinicians to ensure comprehensive care
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • LGBTQIA+ culturally competent by virtue of education, training, experience, or a combination thereof
  • High School diploma (or equivalency) and/or a State Education Commencement Credential
  • Successful completion of YPA Training Level One (online)
  • Provisional certification at the time of hire and permanent certification within 18 months
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Compensation

Full-time: $28,000 - $32,000 a year

Fee for Service: $22.00 per hour
