Experience in designing process control instrumentation, PLCs, and distributed control systems is essential.

Proficiency in MicroStation 2D Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) software is mandatory.


The candidate should be capable of conducting weekly site inspections for ongoing engineering projects.


Preferred Qualifications:
Holding an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the last two years is advantageous.

Experience with CLIENT Design Engineering or within DOE facilities is also preferred.

Responsibilities:

Provide design engineering support to CLIENT.

Main duties will include engineering analysis, site inspections, design development, and the creation of design output documents such as:

P&IDs; Control Logics; Loop Diagrams; Instrument Indices; Setpoint Lists; Instrument and Control Valve Specifications; DCS and PLC Design; Instrument Location and Installation Design; Panel Layouts; and Vendor Document Review.

All engineering services will adhere to CLIENT's established processes and procedures, with programmatic guidance provided by CLIENT.

Work Schedule:
A standard work week of up to 40 hours is anticipated.

CLIENT offers various work schedules, including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days a week), 4/10's (10 hours/day; four days a week), and 9/80's (9 hours/day, five days on week AA and four days on week BB).

The work week excludes CLIENT holidays, and each workday includes a 30-minute lunch break. Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines and will be managed at the discretion of the Manager.

Essential Qualifications:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Education:
Ph.D. in a relevant field with 5+ years of experience, or a Master's degree with 8+ years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience.

Position Specific:

A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, I&C Engineering, or current registration as a Professional Engineer in one of these disciplines is required.


Experience/Skills:


The candidate must demonstrate a minimum of ten (10) years of direct I&C design experience (within the last 15 years) in the nuclear or process chemical industry.

The candidate must have experience in designing process control instrumentation, PLCs, and distributed control systems. Proficiency in MicroStation 2D Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) software is required.


The candidate must be able to conduct weekly site inspections for the engineering work being performed.

These inspections may involve navigating construction sites with uneven surfaces, walking distances exceeding half a mile, climbing ladders to access remote areas, and wearing protective clothing in environments where a respirator is necessary.


Other Required Qualifications:

Security Clearance:
The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not required initially to perform assigned duties. The selected candidate will be informed when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments.

Preferred Qualifications:
Possession of an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two years is preferred.

Previous experience with CLIENT Design Engineering or within DOE facilities is preferred.
