About the Role:
Wing is seeking a Pilot-in-Command (PIC) Manager to enhance our Flight Operations team. This role is pivotal in managing the performance and readiness of our Pilot-in-Command personnel within our commercial drone delivery service. The successful candidate will report directly to our Chief Pilot, ensuring that our team of PICs is well-prepared and available for operations. Ideal candidates will possess a minimum of one year of experience in managing small teams, alongside a background as a PIC in Part 135 commercial drone delivery operations, coupled with a strong enthusiasm for aviation and the growth of this innovative sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain qualifications and actively serve as a Part 135 Pilot-in-Command for Wing's autonomous drone delivery operations.
- Oversee a team of 7-9 PICs, providing leadership and support.
- Collaborate closely with the Chief Pilot and Assistant Chief Pilot to ensure PIC availability and operational readiness.
- Facilitate the professional development and skill enhancement of team members.
- Assist in the management of PIC Stations and Operations Rooms, ensuring all equipment is operational.
- Support the onboarding process for new crew members.
- Engage in public and governmental outreach initiatives on behalf of Wing.
- Uphold confidentiality standards when handling sensitive information.
- 3-6+ years of experience in commercial or public UAS operations, with at least 1 year in crewed aviation as a flight or ground crew member.
- 2+ years of experience in managing teams of 5 or more in aviation, transportation, or other safety-critical environments.
- Possession of a current FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
- Class III (or higher) FAA Medical Certificate.
- Experience with resource management software such as Deputy or ServiceNow, with a willingness to learn new tools.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (gSuite) applications (e.g., Google Docs, Sheets, Chat).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Willingness to engage with public and government representatives during outreach activities.
- Ability to work a rotating 7-day schedule, including weekends and holidays, within crew duty time limits.
Salary
$133,000-$149,500 USD
