Position Overview
Timmons Group is actively seeking a Senior Civil Engineering Project Leader to oversee our Land Development initiatives.

Project Scope
This role encompasses a diverse array of projects, including multi-family and mixed-use developments, market-rate apartment complexes, extensive commercial, industrial, and distribution ventures, as well as public land development projects such as educational institutions, correctional facilities, emergency service stations, and recreational parks.

Client Support
We provide comprehensive assistance to our clients in navigating zoning entitlements, securing civil site plan approvals, and offering construction administration support.

Team Dynamics
Our project engineers typically collaborate in teams of 2-3 design engineers alongside a project manager to transform our clients' visions into reality. The intricate and fast-paced nature of our clients' requirements fosters a dynamic work environment, promoting teamwork, diverse training opportunities, and a strong sense of ownership in the successful execution of projects.

Key Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities of a successful candidate include, but are not limited to:

  • Designing project components utilizing relevant office software, modeling, and Civil 3D technology.
  • Performing calculations using engineering principles and leveraging computer tools to resolve challenges.
  • Preparing specifications and materials through research and manufacturing catalogs to detail materials, installation, inspection, and payment processes specific to projects.
  • Completing design details and plan sets.
  • Assisting in the formulation of engineering and construction cost estimates.
  • Maintaining communication with clients, staff, and the internal design team.

Qualifications
Successful candidates will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related scientific field, along with equivalent work experience.
  • Preferred professional registration (P.E., L.S., etc.) in one or more states where Timmons Group operates.
  • At least 6 years of experience in civil engineering, particularly in residential land development projects.
  • A comprehensive understanding of project accounting and the ability to manage schedules and budgets for multiple projects concurrently.
  • Experience in marketing and supervising the technical work of others.
  • Proficiency in technical and office support software necessary for performing essential job functions.
  • A professional demeanor towards clients and internal staff.
  • Effective communication skills for daily task completion and collaboration.
  • A commitment to fostering professional relationships and assisting colleagues in meeting critical deadlines.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
