Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Health and Wellness to join our team at Inspired Living at Ocoee. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the Clinical Wellness Department and ensuring that our residents receive exceptional physical and psychosocial care.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Quality Assurance: Monitor and ensure quality in all aspects of the wellness program, including medication management, provision, and documentation of services, follow-through of physician orders and family/resident requests, assessments, and service plans.
  2. Leadership and Supervision: Hire, supervise, motivate, and evaluate all wellness/clinical department associates; plan, schedule, and assign work to wellness department associates to ensure coverage on a 24/7 basis; promote and facilitate interactive problem-solving with associates.
  3. Liaison and Collaboration: Serve as a liaison with hospital personnel, physicians, community organizations, and other health-related service agencies to provide care to our residents.
  4. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Maintain a professional demeanor at all times when interacting with residents and families; use tactful, diplomatic communication techniques in potentially sensitive or emotionally charged situations.
  5. Case Management and Coordination: Conduct pre-occupancy level of care evaluations on all potential residents and ensure completion of ongoing evaluations and service plans; direct and supervise medication programs, including but not limited to medication administration.
  6. Safety and Risk Management: Investigate and document resident and associate incidents, identify safety hazards, and institute corrective action in a timely manner; share in the responsibility for providing and maintaining an environment that is conducive to the safety and physical and emotional well-being of residents and associates.
  7. Documentation and Compliance: Maintain and monitor resident charts to ensure necessary care and services are being given and to ensure compliance with state regulations.
  8. Training and Development: Conduct new associate orientation; coordinate and provide initial and ongoing in-service training.
  9. Infection Control and Safety: Understand and use Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Standard Precautions, OSHA's Occupational Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens standard, and follow established infection control procedures, hazardous communication, and other safety rules.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience as a FL Licensed Practical Nurse; one year in home health, assisted living, or long-term care preferred.
  • 1+ years of nursing management experience to include hiring, coaching, performance management, scheduling, and daily operations supervision.
  • Experience in tracking, trending, and analyzing clinical performance data preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong teamwork skills, and positive community relations skills. Excellent grammar and punctuation skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work as a team and make decisions. Utilize time effectively to complete unfinished tasks within office organization.
  • Able to work well under pressure, resolve conflicts, prioritize tasks, and follow through with ideas.
