Position Overview:

We are looking for a Part-Time Retail Support Associate at Challenge Unlimited, Inc.
  • Compensation: $17.20 per hour along with Federal benefits, including Vacation Time, Sick Time, and Insurance benefits.
  • Work Schedule: Evenings - Monday to Friday - 4:00pm to 10:00pm & Saturday 5:00pm to 8:00pm
  • Location: Various locations

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Project Manager or Supervisor, the Retail Support Associate plays a vital role in supporting the Operations team, furthering our mission to assist individuals with diverse abilities in receiving necessary work support and development, ultimately achieving the highest level of independence possible.

Responsibilities include shelf stocking duties at designated sites. This involves moving, rotating merchandise, stocking, organizing, and displaying products. Additional tasks may include cleaning aisles, sweeping, dusting, wiping, and removing trash. Safety in equipment operation is paramount. Teamwork is essential, which includes training and assisting co-workers, communicating needs to supervisors, and implementing feedback for improvement. A strong emphasis on safety, quality, and customer service is required.
  • Inventory Management- Utilize non-motorized equipment to move merchandise intended for display and resale, including cleaning merchandise on or in display fixtures using various retail techniques.
  • Shelf Organization- Stock, organize, and rotate merchandise for sale in the store, ensuring proper display according to a predetermined placement system using labels or other identifying marks.
  • Display Maintenance- Ensure merchandise is presented neatly and uniformly, maintaining freshness. May determine display or sale requirements based on existing inventory and ensure that stock is rotated appropriately.
  • Store Maintenance- Clear and clean aisles of empty pallets and debris, ensuring merchandise is properly marked and displayed. May involve using a cardboard baler and separating materials for recycling.
  • Team Collaboration- Foster a culture that supports the Company's mission to provide work opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Promote Company values and maintain positive communication with co-workers, addressing needs and implementing feedback for improvement.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Previous work experience in any field is beneficial. Experience in inventory, shipping & handling, or warehouse operations is advantageous. Attention to detail and data entry skills are essential.
  • Background Checks: Successful completion of criminal background checks and various State and Federal registry checks is required.
  • Driving: Must meet driving history check and Company policy criteria. Company travel using a personal insured vehicle is not mandatory.
Physical Requirements:
  • Sitting: Rarely required in the normal course of work.
  • Standing: Frequently required, including walking, bending, squatting, reaching, and twisting during stocking, organizing, cleaning, and other related duties.
  • Communication: Occasionally involves listening and speaking with managers and employees to exchange information regarding work assignments and progress.
  • Vision: Continually required to monitor the work area and equipment for safety and service duties, including reading information in small print.
  • Manual Dexterity: Continually required for writing, filing, stocking, organizing, cleaning, and other tasks.
  • Mobility: Involves frequent bending, reaching, and twisting; occasional climbing of stairs and/or ladders.
  • Lifting: Frequently required to lift, carry, and push or pull up to 75 lbs. of product cases and other items. Team lifting is encouraged.
