Healthcare Support Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
- Execute designated nursing tasks to ensure patient comfort and welfare.
- Maintain accurate records for all assigned patients, including flow sheets and other documentation.
- Assist medical professionals during examinations and diagnostic tests as required.
Reporting Structure:
The Patient Care Technician will report directly to the Nurse Manager and will be responsible for delivering direct bedside care to patients. Additional responsibilities may include respiratory support, rehabilitation services, and phlebotomy.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- CPR-BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Preferred: At least one year of experience in an acute care inpatient setting.
- Preferred: Certification as a Patient Care Technician or Nursing Assistant.
Compliance Requirements:
As this role involves regular interaction with children, candidates must fulfill the requirements set forth by the Child Protective Services Act, which includes obtaining a Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, a Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse clearance, and an FBI fingerprint-based federal criminal records check. Employment will commence only after successful completion of all three checks.
Health and Safety:
Covid Vaccination is mandatory for employment at Jefferson for individuals working within clinical settings. Candidates not currently vaccinated will need to receive the vaccination prior to their start date unless a valid medical or religious exemption is granted.
