Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Health Record Technician to join our team at the Department of State Hospitals - Napa. As a key member of our Health Information Management Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient medical records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review medical records for completeness and accuracy
  • Verify that major documentation guidelines are met
  • Collect and verify discharge summaries and documents
  • Communicate with physicians, social workers, and other hospital staff regarding discharges, transfers, and deaths
  • Assign appropriate diagnosis codes
  • Update various databases, including the Discharge Tracking Database and Admissions/Discharges/Transfers Database
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of medical records and documentation guidelines. You will also need to be highly organized and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
