Position Overview: As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, you will be integral to the daily operations at Aloro Pet Hospital. Your responsibilities will include assisting veterinarians in providing exceptional patient care, monitoring hospitalized animals, managing inventory, preparing medications, conducting routine laboratory tests, educating pet owners about veterinary practices, and supporting anesthetic procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in evaluating animal health by performing examinations, restraining patients, and reviewing medical records.
  • Provide care for patients by taking vital signs, collecting samples, administering vaccinations, and managing wound care.
  • Prepare and assist in medical, diagnostic, and surgical procedures.
  • Dispense medications and administer treatments, ensuring accurate documentation and security of controlled substances.
  • Operate and maintain medical equipment, including EKGs, fluid pumps, and anesthetic machines.
  • Monitor anesthesia and provide support during surgical procedures under the supervision of a veterinarian.
  • Exhibit confidence and compassion when interacting with pets in distress or pain.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in catheter placement and blood sampling techniques.
  • Maintain accurate medical records by documenting patient conditions and updates in a timely manner.
  • Ensure a safe and humane environment by adhering to established protocols and legal regulations.
  • Engage in continuous professional development through continuing education opportunities.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new team members as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in anesthesia monitoring, pre- and post-operative care, and dental procedures.
  • Certification as an RVT, LVT, or CVT is required.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals and dosage calculations.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and cleaning.
  • Comfortable working in environments with sick animals and potentially hazardous materials.
Work Schedule:
Full-time position with the following hours:
  • Monday to Friday: 9 AM - 6 PM
  • Saturday: 9 AM - 2:30 PM
  • Closed on Sundays
