Rutland Regional Medical Center seeks a seasoned engineering professional to oversee the management and execution of all building utility systems, building infrastructure, interiors, and non-medical equipment repairs and maintenance.

As Director of Engineering and Facilities, you will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation and management of the Utility Systems Management Plan, Fire Safety Management Plan, Statement of Conditions, and the computerized maintenance management system in compliance with Joint Commission Environment of Care and Life Safety standards.

This role involves administering the computerized maintenance management system to ensure timely completion of requests and corrective actions. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with preventative maintenance, developing preventive maintenance programs for new equipment based on manufacturer's recommendations or Alternative Equipment Maintenance (AEM) program.

In collaboration with leaders across the organization, you will participate in operational and capital budgeting processes and manage assigned budgets.

Requirements:
  • A master level license or certification in a building trade, OR an Associate degree in engineering, applied science, facilities management, or another related field
  • 5 years of associated engineering experience (facility management, operations and maintenance, clinical engineering, safety and security, planning, design, and construction, or environmental management), preferably in a healthcare setting
  • 5 years of management/supervisory/administrative experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in Healthcare Facilities Management (CHFM)
  • Licensure at a Master level or certification in a building trade
  • Valid Vermont Driver's license
Key Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge of hospital equipment and building primary and secondary mechanical, electrical, and plumbing distribution equipment; construction, installation, operation, and repair
  • Working knowledge and understanding of maintenance and repair management systems
  • Solid project management experience required
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, communicate effectively, and maintain customer focus

The estimated salary for this position is $82,500 - $128,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
