Role Summary:
The Clinical Nurse II is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care in alignment with established professional standards. Reporting directly to the Nurse Manager or Director, this role involves coordinating and executing patient care using the nursing process within a hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Education: Actively identifies and addresses personal learning needs. Participates in educational programs tailored to these needs. Utilizes relevant patient education materials and assesses the readiness of patients and their families to learn.
2. Care Evaluation: Establishes expected patient outcomes and seeks guidance for care plan adjustments. Engages with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care and ensures effective communication for continuity of care.
3. Care Implementation: Demonstrates proficiency in managing patients with complex health issues, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs. Conducts necessary bedside testing as per the care plan and adheres to nursing standards and protocols.
4. Leadership: Collaborates with supervisors to set professional development goals. Participates in unit goals and performance improvement initiatives while effectively utilizing communication systems.
5. Patient Assessment: Analyzes complex data to prioritize care needs, synthesizing assessment information for effective communication. Anticipates discharge requirements and fosters relationships with families to support patient advocacy.
6. Care Planning: Works with patients and families to develop or revise care plans, leveraging multidisciplinary resources and addressing cultural considerations in care delivery.
7. Research: Engages with current literature to enhance practice and shares insights with colleagues for collective assessment.
Additional Information:
Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
Licensure/Certification: Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in North Carolina and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Experience: Minimum of one year in a nursing role.
