Job Summary:
The University of Wyoming is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Athletics Operator/Tech II. This position will be responsible for providing maintenance, landscaping, and custodial duties to prepare Athletic Department facilities for all events, practices, and department functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular maintenance, landscaping, and cleaning tasks on designated facilities, including general maintenance, landscaping, and cleaning duties.
- Provide setup and tear-down for game operations and special events, including scoreboards, PA systems, video, audio, shot timers, and phones.
- Lock or unlock designated facilities as directed.
- Operate and clean manual and power maintenance equipment, perform minor equipment repair and painting, and notify supervisor of damaged fixtures and/or equipment.
- Supervise student employees and provide training and guidance as needed.
- Supervise part-time employees to ensure they are on task, trained, and evaluated.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year work-related experience
- Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the University of Wyoming's policies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous custodial experience
- Previous landscape experience
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of event set-up and tear-down
- Experience with custodial duties
- General maintenance experience
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques
- Supervisory experience
- Demonstrated ability to stay on task while working independently
- Ability to work as part of a team and foster a cooperative work environment
Working Conditions:
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize tasks effectively. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
