Position Available: We are currently seeking an Energy Efficiency Technician to join our expanding team in Cincinnati, OH. This role is vital in enhancing building energy efficiency and comfort through the installation of insulation materials. Your primary duty will involve applying insulation in various areas such as walls and attics to help regulate temperature, minimize energy usage, and foster a comfortable indoor atmosphere.

*This is a full-time role with benefits available after 60 days of employment. The starting pay range is $20 to $24 per hour, based on experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install insulation materials, including fiberglass, foam, or cellulose, in accordance with established safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Utilize appropriate tools to measure and cut insulation materials to fit designated spaces.
  • Seal gaps and air leaks to prevent energy loss using caulking, foam, or other sealing products.
  • Implement vapor barriers or moisture control measures to avert condensation and moisture-related problems.
  • Conduct insulation removal when necessary, ensuring proper disposal of old or damaged materials.
  • Collaborate with team leads, contractors, and homeowners to evaluate insulation requirements and suggest suitable insulation types and methods.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized work environment, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored.
  • Adhere to safety regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work setting.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in insulation installation techniques.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the installation process.

Required Skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of insulation materials, installation methods, and relevant building codes.
  • Proficiency in using various tools, including tape measures, cutting instruments, and blowers.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and physical endurance for repetitive tasks and confined spaces.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality insulation installations.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to address challenges during the installation process.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members and clients.
  • Time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in insulation installation is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Comfortable working at heights and capable of using ladders.
  • Able to work in various weather conditions.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and ability to follow guidelines.
  • Physical capability to lift heavy items and perform demanding tasks.
  • Willingness to pursue additional training and certifications as needed.
