Job Summary:

The Medication Safety Pharmacist plays a critical role in enhancing patient safety by improving medication management processes at Johns Hopkins HealthCare. This position focuses on identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risks related to medication use to reduce potential harm and organizational loss.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct educational programs to promote medication safety awareness among healthcare professionals.
  • Monitor safety activities and collaborate with various departments to achieve medication safety goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate medication-related risks and improve patient outcomes.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required.
  • Master of Science or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy preferred.
  • Completion of an American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) approved residency in hospital pharmacy or a minimum of five (5) years' experience in a hospital pharmacy required.
  • Registered or eligible to be registered in the State of Maryland as a Pharmacist.
