**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Field Engineer I to join our team. As a key member of our technical support team, you will be responsible for providing mid-level technical assistance and support to our clients. This role requires a strong understanding of IT infrastructure, network connectivity, and technical standards.
**Key Responsibilities**
- **Understand and Follow VC3's Technical Standards**: You will be responsible for maintaining a deep understanding of VC3's technical standards and processes, and ensuring that you adhere to them in your daily work.
- **Provide Technical Support**: You will provide technical support to our clients, including troubleshooting and resolving issues related to network connectivity, hardware, and software.
- **Drive to Client Sites**: You will drive to client sites as required, maintaining a valid driver's license and business-class insurance for your vehicle.
- **Set Up New Hardware and Software**: You will set up new computer hardware, software, and peripherals for our clients.
- **Train and Educate Clients**: You will train and educate our clients on technical standards and best practices.
- **Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues**: You will troubleshoot and resolve issues related to customer line-of-business applications, network connectivity, and technical standards.
- **Identify Recurring Issues**: You will identify recurring issues and initiate problem tickets for them.
- **Make Recommendations**: You will make recommendations for improvements to supported hardware and software.
- **Engage with Remote Teams**: You will engage with remote technicians, vendors, and client subject matter experts as needed during the troubleshooting process.
**Additional Responsibilities**
- **Maintain Accurate Timesheets**: You will maintain accurate and real-time timesheets, recording complete and accurate notes of troubleshooting and communication with clients.
- **Receive Mentoring and Feedback**: You will receive mentoring and feedback from peers and others.
- **Escalate Complicated Issues**: You will escalate complicated issues to a more senior resource or other appropriate teams.
- **Participate in Team Meetings**: You will actively participate in team huddles, L10 meetings, one-on-one meetings, and other team meetings.
- **Create and Update Documentation**: You will create and update documentation when changes occur or discoveries are made.
- **Educate Users**: You will educate users on process, hardware, and software.
- **Answer Incoming Calls**: You will answer incoming service desk phone calls and chats when not at a client site.
- **Attend Training and Team Meetings**: You will attend monthly training and team meetings as required.
- **Participate in On-Call Rotation**: You will participate in the on-call rotation (1 week every 3-4 months).
**Requirements**
- **KPI Goals**: You must have consistently met KPI goals in Service Technician I or II roles.
- **Technical Experience**: You must have 1-2 years of relevant technical experience or 6 months of experience in Service Technician I or II roles at VC3.
- **Certifications**: Microsoft 365 or Azure certifications are highly desired.
- **Problem-Solving Skills**: You must have good problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to understand and analyze complex issues.
- **Self-Motivation**: You must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to handle a variety of tasks and responsibilities in an efficient manner with a high level of quality.
- **IT Experience**: You must have at least 2 years of relevant IT experience fully supporting and building customer environments.
- **Technical Skills**: You must have at least 2 years of experience managing and working with the following technologies: Windows Client Operating Systems (7, 8, 10, 11), Windows Server, Microsoft/Office 365, Virus and Security, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Wireless network performance and accessibility, Remote access technologies including VPN, RDS, and Citrix, Operating systems on servers, desktops, and laptops, Common peripherals such as printers.
**Additional Information**
- **Travel Requirements**: You must be willing to travel frequently, often during the day.
- **Work Schedule**: You must participate in a paid 7×24 rotation, working scheduled hours after hours and on weekends.
- **Background Checks**: You will be subject to a criminal, credit, and department of motor vehicles background check, and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
