The Opportunity

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Caregiver - LPN to join our Health & Wellness Team at Five Star Senior Living. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality care to our residents under the supervision of registered nurses and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with personal hygiene, including bathing, grooming, and dressing
  • Support residents with medication management
  • Reposition residents in bed and escort them around the community
  • Provide toileting and incontinent care
  • Take vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, and pulse
  • Observe and report on residents' health, escalating any problems efficiently and effectively
  • Detail daily reports to the Nurse or designated charge person at the end of the shift
  • Provide emotional support and serve as a source of comfort for residents and their loved ones
  • Recognize abnormal changes in body functioning and report to a supervisor
  • Perform nursing assessments, including vital signs monitoring, physical examinations, and health status evaluations, to identify and address resident needs promptly
  • Provide wound care and other nursing interventions as directed by the registered nurse or healthcare provider, following applicable state regulations, established protocols, and infection control practices
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must pass State and Company criminal background/drug screens
  • Demonstrates effective time management skills
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Must have a valid, unrestricted nursing license in the state
  • Current CPR certification
  • Maintain CEU requirements
  • Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Interpret and implement written or oral policies, procedures, and instructions
  • Staff supervision
  • Assessment and resident care skills
  • Medication management principles and practice
  • Written and verbal communication skills
