Job Title: Plant Manager

Wilbert Funeral Services Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our concrete vault manufacturing, graveside services, crematory, mortuary transport, and monuments departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily scheduling of all departments, managing manufacturing and delivery labor hours to ensure efficient production and minimize costs.
  • Coordinate daily production on the shop floor, ensuring the necessary resources are provided for efficient and effective production of goods.
  • Monitor and correct any quality issues in both our products and graveside services, working with suppliers to optimize concrete mix and minimize product cost.
  • Assist the Regional Manager in developing and implementing continuous process improvements, specifically related to efficiency, safety, and housekeeping.
  • Ensure compliance with all State, Federal, and Company safety requirements, including employee training and necessary meetings.
  • Manage all department's purchasing, warehousing, and inventory control of both raw and finished goods, monitoring lead times to ensure deliveries meet demand.
  • Manage all department training, expectations, discipline, and evaluations in accordance with Company policy, Union contract, and State/Federal law.
  • Coordinate the Maintenance & Repair of the company's facilities, equipment, and vehicles, working with the Regional Manager.
Requirements:
  • Prefer a minimum of 2 years in the precast concrete industry, including experience in production scheduling, dispatching, purchasing, safe work procedures, and practices.
  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • Prior experience managing people, production, equipment, and/or maintenance.
  • Must have a CDL or obtain one within 90 days of employment.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Some basic accounting knowledge.
  • Some basic mechanical skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, employees, and managers.
  • Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
  • Must have a solid understanding of MS Office software and Google.
