Key Duties Include:
- Manage all cases within your assigned caseload, providing comprehensive case management, including social casework, engagement, mentoring, and community referrals.
- Gather, evaluate, and document relevant data and client progress. Ensure timely completion of documentation, reports, statistics, and assignments.
- Collaborate with referral sources, agencies, institutions, and individuals involved in the client's life.
- Prepare for and attend all scheduled court hearings related to your caseload.
- Take charge of intake and initial placement services for newly referred cases.
- Coordinate placement arrangements with caregivers, including necessary transportation for children.
- Deliver intensive supportive casework services to children, birth families, and caregivers during initial placements and transitions.
Education and Licensure:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related human services field.
- Preferred: Licensed by the State of Michigan.
Experience:
Preferred: One year of experience in child welfare.
Additional Requirements:
- Availability for a 24-hour client support system, including foster and adoptive parents.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record and reliable transportation suitable for transporting clients, along with proof of current automobile insurance.
