Job Overview

Position Summary

Nuvance Health is seeking dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapists for PRN opportunities within our esteemed healthcare system. We are looking for professionals who are passionate about improving the lives of patients with pulmonary conditions. Ideal candidates will possess either RRT or CPFT credentials from NBRC. If you are not currently RRT certified, you must obtain registration within one year of employment.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Conduct pulmonary rehabilitation sessions, offering education and exercise guidance to patients diagnosed with chronic pulmonary diseases.
  • Facilitate group and individual exercise classes, ensuring patients receive comprehensive support twice weekly for a duration of six weeks.
  • Manage the alumni maintenance exercise program, available three times a week, to encourage ongoing patient engagement.
  • Administer airway clearance sessions as per physician directives.
  • Perform 6-Minute Walk Tests to assess patient progress and capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and maintain accurate patient databases.
  • Complete additional tasks as directed by departmental leadership.

Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care is required.
• A minimum of three years of relevant experience in the field.
• Current registration as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Valid state license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• BLS certification for healthcare providers.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Experience:

Experience in pulmonary rehabilitation is highly desirable.

Work Environment:

• Manual dexterity and significant motor coordination are essential.
• Some occupational risks may be present.
• Physical demands include medium to heavy effort, with the ability to exert up to 35 lbs. of force.
• Exposure to various environmental factors may occur.

Credentials Required:

LRESP, RESP, BLS
