As a Food Service Associate, you will be integral to enhancing the overall guest experience at H-E-B Restaurant. Your role will involve delivering positive and memorable service while taking guest orders, preparing beverages, serving food, and ensuring the cleanliness of the dining space and patio.

We seek candidates with:
- Experience in restaurant Point of Sale (POS) systems (NCR, Aloha, Nirvana, etc.)
- Advanced customer service and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster strong relationships with customers in diverse situations
  • Take orders from customers; assist with menu and beverage selections, including alcoholic options
  • Provide comprehensive information on menu items and specials, including beer and wine
  • Serve food, beverages, and products to guests
  • Accurately and efficiently process cash, check, debit, and credit transactions
  • Utilize suggestive selling techniques to meet guest needs and enhance department sales
  • Engage positively with customers in person, via phone, or through technology
  • Assist with catering orders as necessary
  • Address customer complaints and resolve issues to build lasting relationships
  • Promote teamwork to ensure an exceptional guest experience
  • Prepare, package, and merchandise products
  • Support technical areas as needed
Compliance and Sanitation Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to TABC regulations
  • Comply with departmental and store standard operating procedures
  • Clean and bus tables; perform deep cleaning of dining and bar areas as required
  • Maintain beverage stations and bar areas
  • Uphold sanitation standards in food and beverage preparation areas
  • Properly handle, operate, and maintain equipment
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:

  • Minimum age of 18 (mandatory)
  • At least 1 year of experience in customer service
  • Experience with restaurant Point of Sale (POS) systems is preferred
  • Completion of Alcohol Seller Training and Cash Handling training upon hire

Physical Requirements:

  • Function effectively in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Work extended hours and/or rotating schedules
  • Safely navigate around moving mechanical parts
  • Frequently stand and walk
  • Lift up to 50 lbs and manage heavier items as needed
