Role Overview:

The Associate Category Manager will play a crucial role in managing specific category functions within NDCP's Restaurant Solutions. Responsibilities will encompass various assets, materials, and services used in the construction or remodeling of restaurants. This position will be instrumental in enhancing the growth and profitability of Dunkin' by refining sourcing strategies, cultivating beneficial supplier relationships, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Associate Category Manager will provide dedicated support in supplier, cost, risk, and performance management, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products and services at the most sustainable cost.

Key Responsibilities:

  • RFx Management: Prepare and execute RFI, RFQ, and RFP processes. Analyze submissions and collaborate with internal teams to make informed award decisions. Summarize results for executive review.
  • Negotiation: Secure the lowest possible landed cost while considering product specifications, quality, service levels, and market conditions.
  • Contract Management: Optimize business terms and conditions while developing contracts for product and service supply with both new and existing suppliers. Ensure timely contract renewals.
  • Program Development: Identify and initiate new, user-friendly program offerings that drive additional value and enhance the Member experience.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Dunkin'/Inspire Brands New Store/Remodeling teams and franchisees to ensure effective cross-functional planning and execution of Category Management tasks.
  • Supplier Development: Enhance supplier performance by establishing standards, fostering joint improvement initiatives, and soliciting real-time feedback.
  • Market Insight: Monitor key spending trends, cost drivers, and market factors to effectively manage assigned categories and implement appropriate sourcing strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in category management and strategic sourcing, including supplier, cost, risk, and relationship management.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in supply chain, business, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required; familiarity with SAP and/or Smartsheet is advantageous.
  • Collaborative approach with a proven ability to build strong business relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on quality and results.
  • Curiosity and aptitude for understanding complex requirements across various categories.
  • Experience in a purchasing cooperative, foodservice distribution, franchise systems, or the foodservice/restaurant industry is a plus; experience in the construction industry is also beneficial.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to operate a computer keyboard and view a computer screen for long durations.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to fifteen (15) pounds.
