Job OverviewThe Department of Biological Sciences at the University of North Texas seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor Assistant position. This posting is for the Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2025 semesters. The specific courses involved may vary from semester to semester, and openings to teach these courses develop on a periodic basis, dependent upon department teaching needs.
Responsibilities- Lecture and/or laboratory courses in Biological Sciences, including Medical Terminology, Environmental Science, Biology for Science Majors, Human Anatomy & Physiology, Human Evolution & Physical Anthropology, Genetics, Cell Biology, Animal Physiology, Parasitology, Immunology, Biochemistry, and specialized courses such as Forensic Microscopy.
- Teaching and instruction in a college-level laboratory setting.
- Developing and implementing course materials and assessments.
- Bachelor's degree with 18 hours of advanced coursework in Biological Sciences (or related area specific to the laboratory course).
- College-level laboratory instruction experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry/Molecular Biology, or related area specific to the laboratory course assignment(s).
- One year of demonstrated laboratory instruction experience.
This is a Security Sensitive Position. The work schedule varies based on assignment, and the position does not require driving a university vehicle.
