Job Summary

The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) is a vital member of our healthcare team, working under the direct supervision of a registered professional nurse. As a CNA, you will provide quality, evidence-based care to patients, assisting with activities of daily living and other physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Function as an assistive role under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, retaining accountability for one's own actions and behaviors.
  • Assist in the physical management of patients, including feeding, hygiene, bed making, and ambulation.
  • Provide physical, emotional, and spiritual care to patients, respecting age-specific and culturally sensitive needs.
  • Record and report vital signs, intake and output, weight, and any behavioral changes to supervisory personnel.
  • Collect specimens and perform diagnostic procedures as directed.
  • Provide care and prevention necessary to keep patients safe.
  • Demonstrate a caring practice by respecting the rights of individuals or groups.
Requirements
  • Certified Nurse Aide, verification of certification from the State of Iowa.
  • BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
  • High school education or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in a related field preferred.
  • Ability to work concurrently on a variant of tasks in a stressful environment with diverse personalities and work styles.
  • Ability to set and organize own work priorities and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
  • Personal presence characterized by honesty, integrity, and caring, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
