Job Overview

The role of the Food Service Operations Manager encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the smooth operation of our establishment. The following tasks are essential:

  • Capability to lift and transport items weighing up to 55 pounds.
  • Ability to reach for and move items located as high as 6 feet and as low as 6 inches from the ground.
  • Proficient in safely operating and handling various kitchen equipment (including sheeter machines, spatulas, pizza cutters, assorted knives, can openers, pastry brushes, scales, microwaves, telephones, cash registers, etc.).
  • Skill in applying pressure to effectively cut through products and/or clean kitchen tools.
  • Competence in counting, sorting, and weighing different food items and inventory supplies.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with customers and team members (including reading, speaking, listening, and writing).
  • Ability to comprehend directions, instructions, and product specifications.
  • Proficiency in processing and fulfilling customer orders.
  • Understanding of training materials and adherence to standard operating procedures.
  • Successful completion of required training programs for certification.
  • Mathematical skills to calculate sales totals, percentages, inventory usage, food orders, employee schedules, cash handling results, and anticipated business needs.
  • Experience in supervising multiple team members simultaneously and motivating them to achieve objectives, responsibilities, and deadlines.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a managerial capacity, having attained at least an assistant manager or co-manager role in a quick-service restaurant, or one (1) year of experience in a management position within a full-service restaurant.
  • A preferred minimum age of 21.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, along with basic mathematical proficiency.
  • A working knowledge of local marketing strategies, sales enhancement techniques, and a proven ability to manage costs effectively.
  • Strong management, team-building, and communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting profit and loss statements.
  • Dependability, a strong work ethic, and the capacity to work a varied 50-hour workweek under pressure and in challenging situations.
