Job Summary

The Highland Care Center of Redlands is seeking a skilled Dietary Aide to join our team. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents by assisting with food functions and ensuring the highest standards of nutrition and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Dietary Manager and Cook in meal preparation, serving, and clean-up.
  • Help with food handling, storage, and sanitation to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Set up and deliver meal trays and food carts in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Follow established portion controls and adhere to food safety guidelines.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized, including sweeping and mopping floors, and washing dishes and utensils.
  • Dispose of food and waste properly and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Assist with obtaining food supplies and maintaining inventory.
  • Report any occupational exposures or concerns to a supervisor immediately.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Some experience in food service or a related field is helpful, but on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Working Conditions
  • Work environment may be warm and fast-paced.
  • May encounter frequent interruptions and be involved with residents, family, and government agencies.
  • May be required to work beyond scheduled hours and be subject to call-back during emergency conditions.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to move intermittently throughout the day.
  • Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift up to 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and carry such weight a minimum distance of 15 feet.
  • Ability to read fine print on labels and menus.
