Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and specialized nuclear medicine procedures and examinations for radiological diagnosis.
  • Administer radio-pharmaceuticals and medications for patient imaging and therapeutic procedures.
  • Operate computed tomography (CT) scanners that are used in conjunction with nuclear medicine procedures.
  • Provide images, data analysis, and patient information for diagnostic interpretation or therapeutic procedures.
  • Evaluate images to determine the technical quality and calibration of instrumentation.
  • Evaluate new protocols and assist in the completion of the accreditation process for the American College of Radiology (ACR) every 3 years.
  • Perform quality control and reporting tasks, set up and conduct procedures, maintain day-to-day schedules, assist radiologists, and contribute to the efficient operation of the department to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care.
  • Acquire patients' chart data/requisition and review both to determine correct room set-up and learn of any specific medical problems, contraindications to the study, and verify that the study being ordered correlates to the diagnostic needs.
  • Educate patients regarding procedure, equipment, and exam to ensure understanding and safety.
  • Review each examination for technical accuracy, present completed examinations to radiologists, and communicate pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of patients following the procedure.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) certification.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (PET technologists only).
  • CT Certification within 180 days of hire.
  • 1+ years of experience.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Associate degree or Baccalaureate degree in radiography, radiology, radiation therapy, or nuclear medicine.

New York Residents Only: The hourly range for New York residents is $28.03 to $54.95 per hour. Pay is based on several factors, including education, work experience, certifications, and more.
