Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and specialized nuclear medicine procedures and examinations for radiological diagnosis.
  • Administer radio-pharmaceuticals and medications for patient imaging and therapeutic procedures.
  • Operate computed tomography (CT) scanners that are used in conjunction with nuclear medicine procedures.
  • Provide images, data analysis and patient information for diagnostic interpretation or therapeutic procedures.
  • Evaluate images to determine the technical quality and calibration of instrumentation.
  • Assist in the completion of the accreditation process for American College of Radiology (ACR) every 3 years.
  • Perform quality control and reporting tasks, setting up and conducting procedures, maintain day-to-day schedules, assisting radiologist, and contributing to the efficient operation of the department assuring the quality and continuity of patient care.
  • Acquire patients' chart data/requisition and reviews both to determine correct room set-up and learn of any specific medical problems, contraindications to the study and verify that the study being ordered correlates to the diagnostic needs.
  • Educate patients regarding procedure, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and safety.
  • Review each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed examinations to radiologist, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of patients following the procedure.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) certification.
  • Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (PET technologists only).
  • CT Certification within 180 days of hire.
  • 1+ years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree of Baccalaureate degree in radiography, radiology, radiation therapy, or nuclear medicine.
Compensation and Benefits

The hourly range for this position is $28.03 to $54.95 per hour. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
